The complete S / A / B / C ranking of every gun in the current Killer Bean Steam Early Access build. Updated for the June 2026 patch (v0.100.051). Each weapon links to its full guide entry with stats, best modifiers, and boss recommendations.
⚠️ Tier lists are opinionated. The ranking below is the consensus from the r/KillerBean Discord, the WeMod trainer community, and our own campaign testing. The "right" weapon is the one that fits your playstyle. The Plasma Bean is rated A even though some speedrunners put it in S.
Two weapons carry the entire game. Pick these unless you specifically want a challenge run.
S · Pistol · DPS 92
Dual Wield Deagles
Killer Bean's signature sidearms. Highest sustained DPS when you can stay airborne and tap‑fire. The default loadout that 90% of new players should master first.
Best for: Bullet‑time dives · Boss DPS windows · Dual wield reload cancels
S · Launcher · DPS 70
Explosive Burrito Launcher
Insane AoE for crowd control. Slow reload is mitigated by the bean‑seeking projectile arc — chuck one and dive out. Best weapon for The Party mode waves.
Best for: The Party mode · Pirate Commando groups · Vehicle clears
AA — Strong picks
Best in class for one specific scenario. Pair with an S‑tier as a secondary.
A · Rifle · DPS 78
Assault Bean AR
Workhorse rifle. Accurate, fast, never exceptional. Pair with a launcher secondary for the most forgiving loadout in the campaign.
Best for: Conquest mode · Long sightlines · Mechs
A · Shotgun · DPS 120
Shadow Shotgun
Devastating one‑shot kills up close. The trade‑off is real: at mid range it's a peashooter, and the slow reload means you need a secondary for cleanup.
Best for: Stealth skill tree · Indoor Shadow Troop camps · Parkour chains
A · SMG · DPS 60
SMG Bean
Best ammo efficiency per kill. The reload is so fast that you can chain dives without losing DPS. Outclassed only by the Deagles in raw damage.
Best for: Conquest mode · Ammo conservation · Stealth finisher chains
A · Pistol · DPS 105
Revolver Bean
Higher per‑bullet damage than the Deagles, lower fire rate. The reload animation is faster, which makes it the favorite of speedrunners.
Best for: Bullet‑time headshots · Boss crit windows · Speedruns
A · Energy · DPS 100
Plasma Bean
Energy weapon that ignores armor — melts mechs and Shadow Troop heavies. Projectile travels through multiple enemies. Limited ammo pool.
Best for: Anti‑mech · Shadow Troop elites · Boss armor phases
BB — Niche / situational
Solid in the right hands, but you'll feel the gap vs. S/A on boss DPS checks.
B · Sniper · DPS 250
Sniper Bean
One‑shot kills on most non‑boss targets. You trade all your mobility for a scope. Best on the 4 biomes' long ridges (Island, Desert, Snow, Volcano).
Best for: Long range · Conquest · Anti‑aircraft
B · Launcher · DPS 95
Rocket Bean
Slow but with a much larger blast radius than the Burrito Launcher. Better at clearing convoys and vehicles. Bad indoors — the splash will kill you.
Best for: Vehicles & mechs · Pirate Commando camps · Long sightlines
B · LMG · DPS 88
Machine Gun Bean
Suppress everything. The reload is brutal but the magazine is huge. Best paired with Parkour for a Turret‑on‑legs playstyle in Battle Arena.
Best for: Battle Arena · Suppression · Parkour builds
B · Throwable · DPS 75
Grenade Bean
Three grenades per pickup, arc trajectory, large blast. Cook them — pre‑throw tap so they explode on contact with grouped enemies.
Best for: Camp clear · Vehicle disable · Boss phases with adds
B · Melee · DPS 65
Bean Fists (Melee)
Often overlooked but the finisher animations restore stamina and look incredible. Parkour + Melee is a top‑tier build for the second biome onward.
Best for: Stamina regen · Finisher chains · Bullet‑time melee
CC — Skip unless you love it
Currently under‑tuned. Buffs likely in a future EA patch.
No weapons in this tier right now.
Why these two are S‑tier
1. Dual Wield Deagles
Highest sustained DPS when paired with the Guns Blazing skill tree. The dual reload cancel is a 0.4‑second window that turns a 2‑second reload into a 1.6‑second reload — that 20% matters on the Shadow Agency Director's phase‑change DPS check. The default starter weapon for a reason.
2. Explosive Burrito Launcher
Crowd control. Pure crowd control. The Party mode throws 50+ enemies at you per wave and the Burrito Launcher is the only weapon that doesn't make you want to quit. The bean‑seeking projectile arc is basically aimbot, and the explosive radius deletes grouped adds before they can melee you.
How we tier
Three factors, in order of weight: DPS check ability (can the weapon solo a phase 3 boss?), ammo economy (how much do you reload?), and modifier synergy (does the gun scale with Glass Cannon / Crit Streak / Phoenix Coil?). Niche weapons that win one specific encounter (Sniper Bean on the Mercenary Heli) get a one‑tier bump.
Long‑tail answers
What is the best weapon for each boss in Killer Bean?
Shadow Bean Commander → Dual Deagles. Pirate Commando Captain → Sniper Bean (fuel tank shot). Mercenary Juggernaut → Plasma Bean (reactor). Shadow Agency Director → Revolver Bean with Glass Cannon modifier. Full breakdown on the best loadout page.
What is the best weapon for beginners?
The Dual Wield Deagles. Always available, highest damage, simplest pattern. Master the dual reload cancel and you can clear the entire Island biome.
Is the Burrito Launcher actually good?
Yes — the only S‑tier secondary. Its projectile arc is bean‑seeking (the in‑joke name for the homing arc) and the blast radius is the largest in the game. S‑tier for The Party and B‑tier for the bosses.
